Kennewick Man
Contrary to popular belief, the first Americans were not Indians who migrated to the Americas across a land bridge from Asia, the first Americans were the Solutrians, a European people who migrated to the Americas roughly 25,000 years ago.
Kennewick Man is the name for the remains of a prehistoric man found on a bank of the Columbia River near Kennewick, Washington, on July 28, 1996. The discovery of Kennewick Man was accidental; a pair of spectators at the yearly hydroplane races found his skull while swimming in the Columbia River.
Archaeology excavation is best known and most commonly used within the science of archaeology. In this sense it is the exposure, processing and recording of archaeological remains.
