Archaeology and Human Nature

Our ape cousins provide the basis for any reasonable interpretation of human nature. Basically human society is ape band hierarchy multiplied in complexity a million fold; indeed all social animals form hierarchies. Crowding almost any two solitary animals together will produce a dominance hierarchy, in which one animal becomes boss or kills the other.

Communism professed a goal of statelessness and looked what happened. Can anyone say "crimes against humanity"? We need not rely on theoretical frameworks to illustrate how organisations established to safeguard a revolution become the bane of the revolution. People don't want to be equal, they want to get ahead.
