Bureau of Archaeological Research

Florida has a rich human past, dating back at least 10,000 years. Over 95% of this past is buried in archaeological sites. State archaeologists and other professionals working in Florida have developed Florida Historical Contexts that outline the prehistoric chronology of Florida. The Florida Master Site File is a database that contains information on archaeological and historic resources in Florida.

Bureau of Archaeological Research works with state agencies and local communities to manage, preserve, and interpret Florida's irreplaceable archaeological sites for citizens and visitors.
