Join Archaeologist and Presenter James Balme as he takes part in the 1st archaeological excavation of the ancient settlement of Warburton at the end of 1999. This was an evaluation excavation revealing Roman Punic Military ditches. See the profile of the ditches as they were revealed including what is believed to this day to be the inclusion of 'Ankle Breakers. James continues to research into the ancient history of this small Cheshire village now and in the future.
Archaeology excavation is best known and most commonly used within the science of archaeology. In this sense it is the exposure, processing and recording of archaeological remains.
